Quantum phases and dynamics of Bosonic lattice systems
Bosonic fluids formed by one or more ultracold atomic components and in the presence of trapping potentials exhibit a quite rich phenomenology. This is particularly true in the presence of strongly nonlinear interactions and in lattices with complex geometries.
We investigate:
- instability effects, macroscopic quantum oscillations, transitions to localized states and supercurrents.
- dynamical phase transitions at the crossover between classical and quantum regimes.
- miscibility, entanglement properties and non-zero temperature effects in the quantum phases of bosonic and fermionic mixtures characterized by space separation.
- frustration and long-range interaction in bosonic lattice systems
