The ‘Nanophysics and Quantum Systems’ Group is devoted to the theoretical modelling and simulation of a broad spectrum of phenomena in quantum physics, ranging from applicative topics like quantum cascade lasers and optoelectronics in nanodevices, to fundamental problems like the effects of correlations, the role of decoherence and dissipation induced by the environment, out of equilibrium phenomena, quantum information, with the common purpose of understanding how novel fundamental quantum effects can be observed in realistic systems.
